| | 28-Jan-10 12:00 AM | | Two questions on disability will be included in the School Census from 2011. To help schools identify and categorise their disabled children DCSF commissioned a set of survey tools, which are now available in draft form at the link below.
A national trial of the tool materials in interested LAs and schools is about to commence to validate and refine the tool prior to its general release later this year. Participants in this research will have an excellent opportunity to familiarise themselves with the tool and its use, and it will also help them fulfil their obligations under the Disability Discrimination Act 2005.
If authorities would like to be involved please contact Dr Jill Porter at the University of Bathon census-disability@bath.ac.uk | | | http://www.bath.ac.uk/research/pdes/ |
